Growing Season 2021
The 2021 vintage will be remembered for low yields with intensely-flavored, small-sized berries and a smooth and uneventful harvest season. The season started off with very little rain, leading to the 2nd year of drought conditions in Napa Valley, Harvest began early with white wine grapes picked on July 30th and red wine grapes beginning on August 31. While concerning in the long term, the drought of 2021 resulted in a more natural load on the vines, requiring less pruning and dropping of fruit. The resulting grapes are packed full of flavor.
The grapes are pressed using 100% whole cluster fermentation and aged 15 months this provides the wine a great structure and freshness throughout the palate.
Tasting Notes
Elegant and expressive, the 2021 Hestan Grenache greets the senses with aromas of crushed raspberry, clove, and white pepper, accented by a hint of dried herbs. On the palate, it offers a supple, medium-bodied texture layered with vivid red fruit, gentle spice, and a hint of earthiness.
he wine’s luminous fruit character is lifted by bright acidity and a satin-like mouthfeel, leading to a refined, persistent finish that highlights Grenache’s natural grace and charm.
