Growing Season 2020
The 2020 growing season along the Sonoma Coast delivered exceptional concentration and purity in Pinot Noir, despite a year marked by climatic challenges. A mild, dry winter led to early budbreak, followed by a cool, steady spring that encouraged uniform flowering and fruit set.

Throughout the summer, temperate coastal weather and persistent morning fog created ideal conditions for slow, even ripening, preserving the hallmark vibrancy and aromatic precision of the region’s Pinot Noir. Grapes developed intense color and flavor while maintaining fresh natural acidity — a reflection of the cool maritime influence and dramatic diurnal temperature shifts.

Tasting Notes
Perched high above the fog line in the remote reaches of the Sonoma Coast, Walala Vineyard produces Pinot Noir of remarkable depth and purity. The 2020 vintage opens with vivid aromas of wild strawberry, black cherry, and rose petal, accented by subtle hints of forest floor and spice.
On the palate, the wine is graceful yet structured, revealing layers of red currant, pomegranate, and cranberry interwoven with notes of clove, tea leaf, and cedar. A silky texture and bright coastal acidity drive a long, refined finish, showcasing the vineyard’s signature combination of elegance, energy, and minerality.
This is a beautifully balanced, site-driven Pinot Noir—expressive in its youth, yet destined to evolve gracefully over the next decade.
