2019 Hestan Cabernet Sauvignon

Growing Season 2019
2019 began with ample rainfall resulting in late soil moisture. The summer was long and warm, while foggy mornings created the ideal conditions for vibrant, expressive wines.  Harvest stretched into October thanks to very moderate temperatures in August and September. Wines are ripe and lush yet well-defined; a worthy follow-up to the benchmark 2018 vintage.

The lots for Hestan Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon are kept separate throughout winemaking to retain individual block and varietal characters. Small capacity fermentation tanks, carefully timed pump-overs and punch-downs, a mix of native and cultured yeasts, the finest French cooperage and extended aging result in a wine noted for its deep flavor and velvety tannins.

Tasting notes
Extraordinarily rich and dark, the 2019 Hestan Cabernet bursts with aromas of sweet cassis, black cherries, and subtle hints of leather. The palate unfolds with layers of blackberries, blueberries, and mulled spices, seamlessly transitioning into notes of mocha, vanilla, and cola on the finish. A rich, round, and powerful mouthfeel is complemented by velvety yet firm tannins. This wine promises excellent aging potential—enjoy over the next 12 to 20 years.
